Usually I'm posting about people who speed, cut off other drivers, pull out without enough time, etc. But sometimes, a driver is going so slowly and is behaving so cluelessly, that I have to post it here. Last Saturday, I was running errands and was on Candelaria, just East of Juan Tabo. I was heading West, towards the intersection there, and the light had just turned green. I was planning to turn left and plenty of time remained. Or so I thought.
Lo and behold, this Dodge Stratus, NM license plate 484NDW was in the left lane in front of me, going maybe 15 MPH. I honked to hopefully wake him/her up or get them to stop talking on the cell phone or whatever for just a second or two so they would realize they were going so slowly. Nope, didn't help. Then, the Stratus got in the left turn lane in front of me. Still plenty of time to turn, and there were few cars coming the other way. Nope. Did not go. So I honked again. Light turned red. Then, some beefy guy got out of the passenger door and started toward me, yelling at me like he was going to start something. I just stared at him and shook my head. He stopped, and then got back in the car. WTF?
Tell you what, buddy. Why don't you concentrate on what's going on NEXT TO YOU in YOUR OWN CAR, then you wouldn't have other drivers honking at you. I don't know if the driver was A) a student, B) and old person, C) drunk, D) on drugs, E) Lost, F) talking on the phone, G) just got out of the doctor's office with dilated eyes YOU SHOULD NOT BE ON THE ROAD DRIVING LIKE THAT. Stay out of our way and keep the roads safer.
So then after waiting for the entire red light, we got the green arrow and turned onto Juan Tabo. Now, the Stratus was still going slowly, and appeared not to know for sure what lane to be in. The car stayed in the center lane, but turned on the right turn signal, then turned it off, staying in the center lane. I stayed well behind them until I had to turn into the bank parking lot. I can only imagine that they drove around getting in front of people wherever they went, getting honked at every so often. Sheesh.
